Atlanta rapper Cameron James Williams, professionally known as Cam James, is a storyteller. He was influenced by Nas, OutKast and 90's R&B, using that foundation to build his own unique sound. At Georgia Tech in 2011, he started turning his poems and spoken word pieces into songs. These rough, unpolished sessions became cohesive solo projects over years of trial and error.
The professional resume is brief, but noteworthy. Cam has risen from dorm rooms to major stages, culminating in selections for major national music festivals (2016 A3C Festival, 2017 SXSW Music & Arts Festival). He's released several independent projects since 2012, including an EP of 90's R&B remixes called Orange Soda and two EPs with producer Remot: No Role Models and No Applause.
Cam has written and recorded singles for international clients, ranging from corporate commercials to personal commissions. Following his first TV placement on BET's Being Mary Jane, he announced his independent sophomore album, leviTAPE. He'll star in an international tourism ad campaign in April 2018.
WHat makes me Different.
I make hard-hitting, engaging songs blending lyrical rap with R&B influences, using my sense of humor and layered metaphors to deliver potent messages. While the love-oriented content sets me apart, my voice is what makes the music truly unforgettable. At least, that's what my fans tell me.
